Adult Coloring Fabric - My New Favorite Way To Relax

Do you have any adult coloring books?  I love that they are producing coloring books for adults.  I've always loved to color but didn't like the little kid books that were available.  So I'm in love with the new books adult coloring books.  This last Christmas though I got adult coloring fabric.  DIY FABRIC!!  Ok I may be a little too excited about this but really it's super cool.  It's nice to sit down, watch TV, and color.  I don't get a lot of time to do it and the designs the kids got me are pretty detailed but I'll get the whole yard colored eventually.  Then I will have two yards of one of a kind fabric.  The design may be the same but no two will be colored exactly the same.

I love the fact that I have several local quilt shops in my area since I live in a pretty rural area.  So my family knew where to shop but they weren't sure what to get.  Since I knew the men in my life were going shopping I made sure the weekend before I stopped into my two favorite shops to drop big hints to my husband.  I got just what I wanted and at the top of the list was the adult coloring fabric.  I knew of three pieces that one shop carried, I found more this last weekend.  One was a princess castle and I told him I didn't want that one.  I got the other two though and the markers!!

I haven't had a lot of time to color.  I tend to spend my down time on the computer learning how to make this blog better, figuring out what social media work, and answering all of your great questions.  I did make time the other day for coloring, partly I needed to unplug and partly because the grandkids had been asking about my coloring.  Of course I started with the space one, I didn't think they'd be into the geometric print as much as the space print.  I want to make a bag with the space print so I know what that one will end up being.

As you can see I didn't get a lot done but it was enough to satisfy a five year old and a three year old.  The shop also carries crayons and that's what their sample is done in.  I wonder if the crayons aren't a little quicker.  With the markers I had to go over each area several times to get the color to come out nice and bright.  It was a fun night though and I love that the grandkids gave me coloring fabric since I bought them coloring books.
