In last week's live video I talked about our convertible treadle table uses a panty hose as the belt. This isn't a new idea or even my own idea. We were looking for a treadle belt and asked about them in a local Amish store. We figured if anyone knew of a local place to pick one up it would be someone in that store. One of the women pulled me aside to let me know what she used in an emergency. It was a leg out of a pair of panty hose. I thought it was genius but it took us awhile to get brave enough to try it.

We bought a whole bunch of panty hose at a storage unit yard sale. There was no way I was going to wear them, in the package or not. I picked them up to try the idea out. I couldn't convince the hubby to switch any of his machines over to a panty hose belt. When he got the convertible table set up he realized a small problem. Different machines required slightly different length of belts. That spurred the use of the panty hose. It works great. The video shows it in action.
We haven't had any issues switching the two heads we have set up back and forth. It snaps right back to the small size and stretches right back out to the longer size.
