Fiber Tuesday 123

Welcome back to Fiber Tuesday!  How was everyone's week?  This weekend was an odd one around here.  Paul did more sewing than I did.  It's one of those, only so much time in a day things.  In order to design I can't sew so he did my sewing while I spent time sketching out new projects.  Having him sew is better than teaching him how to use all of my programs.  Plus if he can understand what I want then I know the project directions are clear and easy to understand.

This week was an educational here in The Quilting Room.  I like those weeks because I think there are so many tools and types of machines out there that if we can see more about them then we can make a decision if it's right for us.

I shared how to quickly cut fabric strips.  This is just on of many tools on the market for cutting strips but one that I really like.  Plus, my husband gifted it to me before he was really into quilting.  I needed to finally show it off.

This week Paul taught us the difference between rotary and oscillating hook sewing machines.  He even breaks down why you might want one over the other.

More Scrap Busting
I think we all have that stash of fabric that we can't toss but never take the time to cut into manageable sizes either.  This is just one of the buckets that Katy had of scraps.  She showed us how she busted it up into pieces she can use to make scrappy quilts and what she used.  I love getting ideas from all of you!

Now on to the link up.  Remember to check out each other and spread the love.  It is a party after all!
