I won't bore you with my life history right now. You can find most of that in the About Me page up above. I will however bore you with my quilting story.
For as long as I can remember my mother made quilts. That was her job. We had a long arm quilting machine that I remember using a few times. When she passed away I wanted nothing to do with quilting. I didn't want anything to do with it until about a year ago. Until that time my sewing was mainly craft stuff and some home dec.
So what made me change my mind after 25 years of refusing to make a quilt? I attempted a few times but each time I tossed it in a pile. The change was a Craftsy class that I stumbled upon. It was a free class about changing your photos into quilts. I knew what I had to do. I had to make a quilt with one of my photos for a breast cancer fundraiser. My soul needed it done. My brain needed it done. When I finished I realized that I had a love of quilting.
I was finally willing to accept my inheritance. It's funny how much I actually remembered or just came naturally to me. And now I'm here, helping others into the art of quilting. It's a wonderful creative outlet. I hope you join me on this journey and that you make a quilt or two as well.
