Corn Quilt Block
When I signed up to be part of quilt block mania this month, I had full intentions of doing my Sunflower quilt block as a 12"-inch block. When it came time to do this though I didn't want to do the same thing again. I batted around several ideas, like a wheat field or a milo field but they are pretty one-dimensional. Corn has some color variations and there are a few corn fields down the road.
Constructing Corn Quilt Block
We are doing a method that I don't usually do. Instead of snowballing the corners, we are going to trim to a triangle and then sew setting triangles on. If you haven't done it before, it's not hard and with this block, it will save a lot of fabric. The only thing you have to be careful about is those edges are bias and they can stretch out. I did make the triangles slightly bigger so you can trim down to the correct size.
Supplies For Corn Quilt Block
